Does Asterisk phone home?

I just read here

that TrixBox phones home reporting on its installation at client sites. Do any of you know if Asterisk does the same?

no, asterisk does not do this... there was extensive talk about this on the friday conf call.
trixbox runs arbitrary programs on your computer daily.
most, are performance related and h/w investigative... trying to determine what h/w you are using...
the problem that people have is, a) they are running stuff on your computer, b) it is daily, c) you can't opt out, d) the script can change so you never know what it is going to do...
