Howdy Asterisk Folks, There's a whole lot going on in the world of Asterisk at the moment, what with itexpo (http://www.tmcnet.c om/voip/conference/) on the west coast this week, Web 2.0 (http://en.oreilly.c om/webexny2008/publi c/content/home) here in NYC this week and Astricon out in Glendale, AZ next week. With interesting speakers scattered about the country at these events, we'll be takign September off from the NYC Asterisk meetup. We will, however, resume meeting regularly next month to discuss what's been learned, emerging trends and what the future holds for all things Asterisk. In the meantime, if you're planning to attend Astricon, please let the Message Board know so we can arrange to meet up there. Also, anyone who'll be visiting Web 2.0 be sure to stop by the Voiceroute booth (Long Tail Pavilion: Booth #17) to say hello to Ming and catch up on what's cooking w/ DRUID. Hope everyone had a good summer and looking forward to resuming regular discourse. Regards, -birch

Howdy Asterisk Folks, Due to the preponderance of people out of town, thinking about being out of town or just plain slowing down during these hot and muggy summer weeks, we've decided to skip July's Asterisk meetup all together and redirect energies towards the August meetup. We'll shoot for a dead-middle-of-the-w eek Wednesday (8/6) this time in an attempt to reduce the likelihood of loosing long-weekenders and sidestep conflicts with that infernal Java meetup ;-). Likely as not scheduling will be an issue in early August as well, so please RSVP and let me know if the date works for you. Hope this finds all well and enjoying summer. A happy and safe 4th to you, -birch

Greetings all, The NYC Asterisk Meetup will be returning next week for another dive into the world of Asterisk. This month's meeting will feature the fellows from Voiceroute who are in town to talk about Druid . They're schedule is such that we'll have to shift the meetup to Monday night and we will be hosting it at SpecialAI's offices in Long Island City (one or two stops from midtown east depending on what train you take). Please RSVP and let us know who will be able to attend what is sure to be an excellent discussion. Looking forward to it, -birch

Howdy folks - looking forward to seeing all who can join us next Thursday night (3/20) for the March Asterisk Meetup. The topic this month will be Asterisk's native flexibility and the creative communication possibilities contained therein. I'm very pleased to say that Kate Hartman, an Asterisk developer and a resident researcher at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, will be joining us to present a great example in the www.botanicalls.com project which she helped develop. Please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount & we'll look forward to another lively installment next week. Best, -birch
